but just as shocking, at about the same time, the base was also abandoned by david miscavige's father, ron miscavige sr.. we sent a request for comment to scientology spokeswoman karin pouw, but have not received a reply.

Tom Cruise is worshiped like a god in this cult, Scientology has their own version of our "Bethel" were brothers are used to wax his motorbike, cars and do his landscaping. Tom Cruise and Scientology's CEO love to see themselves as Messiahs, I hope this group falls to the ground, the pain, money and suffering has benefited nobody!
@ Randy (Dogpatch) did you work with Scientologist in your deprogramming work? How does a person learn to deprogram a member of a group like that? I knew somebody who was part of the Moonies, she was twisted hard core, it was like talking to a zombie! The techniques these con-men use are brilliant, yet evil. Deprive men and women of protein, subject them to strange input with little sleep and the output is very odd.

the last 5 or 6 years of me being a jw, i did not have a very good go of it.
one thing i actually did enjoy was going to the international convention.

I enjoyed talking Bible prophecy over a cocktail, after the Assembly in Long Beach. We had a good time speculating when the "End" would come, enjoyed the company of some very sharp brothers and sisters.

Londo111, it depends on your elder body, we have some compassionate brothers who were willing to accept alot at face value. I know Joezy's brothers are very kind and loving, they see the good in everyone, blinded by their giant hearts! Joezy has sexual problems, during one of the JC meetings, he complained he was not getting enough sex. Stupid me, asked him "what do you mean, you wife said she has been very affectionate, most American men have sex three times a week or less" Joezy was wanting it "five times day, if not more, she is unable to satisfy my hunger". I do not miss those meetings or listening to this kind of inside martial bed information.

Marital problems - advice (or support) please

i am going to sketch this out quick as i can but please ask any questions if the gaps need filling.. as some may know, i have been married for 12 years with two children (8 and 4).
my wife stopped work when the eldest was born and has been a stay at home mum since.

If everything you say is true, the fact she is so obsessive about affairs and infidelity tells you its on her mind. It is likely her own guilt coming through. She may think if she can accuse you, it justifies her own errors. Your loyalty may frustrate her.
Divorce is ugly and unpleasant but so is what you are dealing with. Unless there's something we are missing, she could even have mental health issues surfacing. Her focus on money to support herself means she's already detaching herself and planning for her future, one that doesn't include you. I hate to recommend divorce, maybe a trial separation may be better, but you can still be a part of your children's lives and live positively even if that happens. They are suffering too; it's not likely that you're the only one suffering. It could be she's emotionally neglecting them as well.
Marriage is tough, even the best and strongest experience differences of opinions and periods of detachment. However, this seems like a trend that is spiraling into something uglier. Does she feel she gets enough attention from you? Could it be she's trying to goad you into an affair? Or that she doesn't feel desirable and wants you to be more demonstrative (which may be why she's seeking outside assurance)?
You might try focusing a bit on her value to you (you may have to set aside your resentment and justified anger for a bit to do this), to see if indeed attention is what she wants. Has your marriage (before all this) gotten into a rut? Sometimes when people get married, there's a large amount of excitement, and then the children brings excitement, buying a house, vacations, etc, but eventually day to day life settles down and can be disappointing for some who immaturely imagined marriage was all fireworks and passion. Small acts of attention and unexpected (even if minor) surprises can invigorate and regain some of the interest, IF both parties are hoping for that.
I hope you find some peace in this; life has enough struggles without dealing with them on the homefront as well.

You won't believe me, but I am willing to throw this out, because it's the truth. Judgemental Joez has been disfellowshiped six times for fornication and adultry. Chrisssy (his wife) has faith he is going to change his ways, with time passing, his sex drive has been fading, Joezy has been reinstated again, and treats the young microphone runners like dirt!
Joezy is big on Bible prophecy, End-Times along with obeying the Ten Commandents! Joezy's example demonstrates there is something wrong with the shunning practice. Joezy gossips about sisters who wear short skirts, judges brothers who put on a little weight. Why are jerked up people, the most judgemental? Six times has got to be a County record, or perhaps, a State record in California?

we have been down the path of this kind of thinking dawkins, harris and peter singer promote, it lead to the near irradication of the jews, gypsies, disabled, mentally ill and any other undesirables who were not contributing to the greater good of hitler's, stalin's, pol pot and mao's ideals.. .
can we address the issue at hand, how would you debate peter singer's statement that a "pig is more valuable than a disabled child, human"?

Peter Singer's apologists and suppoters cannot clean up all his unfiltered thoughts, his early work is not tame, and he supported people with disabilities to be removed from society. The clear path in a evolutionary world, would be to eliminate all the wasted money spend on individuals and groups who contribute no positive benefit to the human race. Welfare and Disablity animals who are "eater's, feeder's" off the herd, would quickly be left to die. Natural Selection tells us to get rid of the weak and infirm, to make way for a better, stronger species.Richard Dawkins is allowed to spew his hate, his followers slither to his snake charming pipe, not realizing that many of them would be eliminated in his perfect world.
Singer's past lectures were blunt, his original thoughts are not what you posted, Before he was sanctioned and called out for his anti-disability remarks, he was a true believe in Eugenics. Peter Singer and Dawkins have no use for three legged (Diseased, Mentally or Physically) gazelles roaming the jungle, the lions and jackals are the first to eat these undesirable animals evolution should have eliminated. Christian morality has combatted groups wanting to kill off the weak members of society, and it's ironic, that the mentally ill and disabled members (living off the herds hard work) would defend the actions of these teachers.

How many ex-jws poster here now believe in Hellfire, immortality of soul, trinity, etc;
by booker-t ini am just curious about this because although i agree with many of the posters here that the wt society is guilty of many horrible deeds, i still believe they are right when it comes to doctrinal things as i mention.
especially hellfire.
i just don't see how anybody that has studied the bible for many years like many of the ex-jws here can make an about face and go back to believing hellfire.
